Problem in cross plataforming play

in New Players (NO SPOILERS!)
Hi guys I am planning to star a multiplayer game with a friend, each of us in its own house, me on pc and him on his ipad. The thing is that he can not find the game i created, i heard this saying we should have the same version but both are patched and all so i dont know what to do.

    I believe the Ipad is currently behind the PC with its version number. So it won't work.
