[v1.2.0] Graphic problem

Hi there!
First of all: Please excuse my poor English.

I wanted to restart BG:EE with version 1.2.0 a view days ago after a quite long break. The game starts just as it should do, but then I get a problem with the graphic inside the game. It looks like that:

On older versions than 1.2.0 I had no problems with graphic effects. Open AI is installed and up to date, all drivers are up to date, too. I tried compatibility mode, but without a result :-(

Perhaps the problem came with Windows 8.1. When I played BG:EE last time, I used Windows 7 as operating system.

Is this a known problem? Can anybody help me?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Your graphics driver needs to be updated (or reinstalled). Try to grab the latest driver from the manufacturer for your computer if you purchased it whole, or the manufacturer of the graphics card if you built it yourself.

If you need help finding it, check the Model Name/Number on the sticker for your computer's information.

I have a GMA 950 and it works hell bad no matter what I do, well, now I grabbed an unused computer that was flying around my home.
Now, with a hell old computer with a much better graphic card, I ran the game at 40 FPS :P.

    I have the same problem!

now I used to play BG:EE on this computer on Windows XP without problems (like a year ago), I upgraded to 7 in the mean time.

I have a GeForce 6600GT; I tried compatibility options : did not do anything :/

edit: fixed it with this old driver http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/175.16/175.16_geforce_winvista_32bit_english_whql.exe

that's funny. I updated my software from vista to windows 7 and also have a NVIDIA GeForce 8400 and had the same problem. Sigh I hope the driver update fixes my computer so I can play my favorite game.
