Where is the Wheel of Obliteration?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I'm currently doing Rasaad's TOB quest and I keep getting to the part where Rasaad agrees to leave with me but I can never find a way out. Rasaad yells that I need to turn the wheel of obliteration but I don't see anything resembling a wheel anywhere. I'm getting pretty frustrated with it, I love the enhanced editions but the new NPC quests are not very good and definitely not very fun.

    Okay I've found the wheel but the game won't let me escape, shadows keep getting in my way and I can't kill them faster than they spawn so my team just kinda keeps shuffling around at the portal but never going in...

    Sunray :) or sunsoul beam works too but you can just run away and back too. Or maybe invis?
