Advice for a 4/5 man good aligned team (ios)

I'm in the process of starting up my Assassin/Fighter playthrough, and feel like doing things with a smaller party to maximise XP. I've got Charname currently as an Assassin who at 6 will be getting changed to a Fighter specialising in Darts ( this is not changing and is the character concept). Beyond that... I'm actually not sure. I don't want to use Neera as my Mage as I dislike having to save before every combat so that my Gold/party doesn't get destroyed with a Wild Surge, I like Sleep to much to use Dynaheir and dislike Xan's lack of damage spells. My plan is to dual Imoen as a Mage though don't know when would be best to do this other than once Detect Traps is at 100. This kinda leaves my Tank slot open and a fourth slot open. I have no issue with getting rid of the NPCs who start off with a companion/getting rid of the companion.a y advice anyone?

Ajantis is a good paladin if you are looking for a tank. He can be replaced by Keldorn once you get to BG2 (always assuming). that would give you some limited healing. Throw in Branwen for your fourth and you should be set.

You could also go Jaheira and Khalid. Khalid isn't a "Fabulous" fighter but he is OK, and Jaheira would make up the difference combat wise, while adding in some healing too boot.

You could also go Minsc who is a formidable warrior, but advancement is as slow as Ajantis and you don't get the healing (although you do get berzerk and Boo). Add in either Jaheira or Branwen to round it out.

Finally, if you want to go total combat heavy (which is fine for BG1, but can cause some problems in BG2), take either Ajantis or Minsc and throw in Kivan. There is actually enough healing in the form of potions to pull that off.

i'd def go for kivan, in ee he has a couple pips in two-weapon fighting, so not too hard to turn him into a dual-wielding powerhouse. alternatively, take khalid. the rest of the fighter npc's are annoying imo.
edit: or maybe even coran or montaron. taking a fighter/thief woulda llow you to dual-class imoen earlier because you wouldn't have to worry about the find traps points

    Khalid is a "Fabulous" fighter

    Fixed :P

P.S. Joke. Please don't start the Khalid argument.

P.P.S I really do like Khalid though.

Ajantis is tanking, then Once it gets to multi classing time, Imoen and Charname will be at ranged with Magic/Darts, and Branwen acting as a Battle Medic.

If you are looking to keep this neutral/good aligned you could always use Garrick. As long as he is level 2 he can use Sleep and that by itself with get your through a lot of encounters. Once you have a bit more in the way of money he can use the Crossbow of Speed or a short sword of your choosing. He can eventually even get up to level 4 spells (though he will have less spells to cast than a mage would obviously).
