Yep. Cast chaos shield etc and use NRD to cast high-level spells (like Abi-Dalzim's long before you can cast it normally) Be prepared for disaster - but I've won several battles by accidentally summoning a Pit Fiend... and running
1. Do not cast any spell on yourself or party members till level 10 and only with chaos shield active.
2. Convert gold to items such as gems or magical equipment that sells for a good amount or keep your gold count low.
3. Use wands and scrolls if you must buff yourself or party members.
4. Keep scrolls of Protection from evil on your characters at all times.
5. Avoid casting in civilian areas unless Edwin is in the area so he can see who the real wizard is when a cow from hell falling on top of him to prove your point.
6. Int and Wisdom are great if you like ToB epicness with wish.
7. Store contingency spells avoid wild surge.
8. Wild surge when properly used will not cause a game over.
9. Nahal's while great is best used with the blade no where near your party or yourself (No hasting, timestop, stoneskin, invisibilty spells, etc)
10. Traps will still kill you so send Edwin in first to absorb all death.
