Need help in Ressurection Gorge

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Trying to finish Dorn's quest now, and I have all 3 stones. Every time I go in the summoning circle tree Dorn will tell me we need a sacrifice. The guy lying in the middle (Vernus) only says I should be careful in the forest... I summon monsters and move them into the circle, I try attacking Vernus, etc. Nothing works.

How does this last bit even work? I'm not about to sacrifice a party member.

    I believe you can use raise dead on Vernus or kill off a creature you summon. Failing that murdering a party member should work.

    I haven't played that far yet but I have done a lot of reading. ;)

    Yep, raise dead on Vernus worked, thanks!

    So... Will Dorn get a different epilogue now? I went with the good ending to the quest.

    I want to actually know, since that'll kind of determine whether or not I keep nerfed Dorn around. If his epilogue is the same regardless, not interested in keeping him around.

    If I recall there are only two, a romanced and non romanced epilogue.

    WELL, sorry Dorn but if that's it for your conversion to good I guess Sarevok or Jan will take your place.

    I'd keep him. Explore some of his other dialogue options. :) There's always the next play through for different companions! ;)
