Problems hosting and joining games [Windows 7/Steam/Beamdog Matchmaking]

I own a copy of the Steam version of BG:EE, and I've been facing a series of problems trying to play a MP game. We are using Beamdog Matchmaking, as I couldn't manage to get TCP/IP (not even using Hamachi) to work. The problems occurs in both Baldur's Gate and Black Pits.

1) When I try to host a multiplayer game, I can only have one other player to join my game - any other player will be faced with the eternal Connecting screen (and eventually a game freeze) after the first guest player joins. The two of us can actually play for hours without any problem, but no one else can join.

2) When I play as a guest, I will be able to join and even play for several minutes (10 or so), and then I'll be randomly disconnected form the host. I then cannot rejoin that particular game, but I can connect to any other BG game without a problem. I will only be able to rejoin if the host exits the game and start a new game session.

All players are using Windows 7, and all using Seam copies.

Could you please help me to get this game to work?

Nevermind. I was able to play using Hamachi after a few attempts.

Just out of curiosity, the players live too far off from each other?

Hmm, we live no more than a couple hundred miles apart from each other.
