Is it better to use +1 ARP off hands or stat boosting ones?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Question in the title really. +ARP off hands over anything else or not? Assuming 18/91 or higher strength.

    Generally the +ARP offhands are best. There are a couple of arguable exceptions however, being Crom Faeyr (25 strength) and the Defender of Easthaven (20% physical resistance).

    That's assuming no shield. There are a couple of nice shields - I particularly like the Shield of Harmony because it provides a lot of immunities. And when using GWW, you get the maximum attacks/round anyway.

    I LOVE the shield from Neeras quests, well ... technically not her quest, but you know what I mean! :)
    Nice ressists, good armor and a 5% magic ressist to everyone around you :P
