Pausing while on inventory

Is there any possible way to keep pause when opening my inventory? I know it is possible in Multiplayer Mode but it would be really nice to be able to safely open the inventory in BG:EE I. Sorry if the topic has already been discussed.

    It is that way in BG2:ToB, whose engine will be used for BG:EE, so yes

    I'm more concerned about being able to unpause while in the inventory, thus allowing you to change equipment on the fly. My suggestion would be to make it like the map screen is currently, that is if you pause the game it remains paused, if not it remains unpaused.

    I'm glad for this option in multiplayer mode. BG does have some flaws in equipment handling (my ranger can switch from a big halberd to a big longbow, but my thief can't switch from his shortbow to his pair of daggers). With that option there is a walkaround for these interface flaws.

    As @lansounet said, opening the inventory will almost certainly auto-pause the game as in ToB. Personally I would prefer it as @Spjuv3rn suggested, where the inventory screen doesn't affect whether the game is paused or not, it simply stays how it was prior to opening the inventory, but it's such a minor thing (for me at least) that it won't really bother me either way and I'm fairly certain it won't be implemented anyway.
