BGII EE Multiplayer questions

Hi all. Im from italy and i've just finished BG1 (not EE). Now i'd like to keep playing with BG2, and im thinking if BG II EE is a good way to do it. I'd really love to play online with my friends so the first question is: is the multiplayer reliable ? I mean, are there lots of issues (lag, bugs, ecc) or i could play it smoothly ? If i play online with two friends of mine, since the party is composed by six members, do i get the last 3 members from the game (NPCs), is that right ? Both patches 1.2 (http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/22810/game-update-v1-2-0/p1) and 1.3 (http://www.beamdog.com/files/bg2ee/bgiiee_releasenotes.pdf, p. 23) improved multiplayer. Although I can only guess from reading the patch notes, haven't tried it myself.

As for your party members in a multiplayer game, if I read the manual correctly (http://www.beamdog.com/files/bg2ee/bg2eemanual1.pdf, p. 58) you can let NPCs join up with your party next to your friend's characters.

@Heisenberg BG2:EE plays perfectly fine online from my experience (since 1.3 at least) so you shouldn't have any problems there.. if you have spare slots in your party you can either fill them with NPC's that you find throughout the game or have 2 characters each if you wanted... hope this helps.
