Robe of Vecna + Amulet of Power question

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Just a quick question. Do their spell casting modifiers stack? Curious about this since examining the related effect in DLTCEP seems to indicate that the casting speed is simply SET to the value (4 or 1) rather than a cumulative bonus.

    They stack. Instant cast Sunfire is wonderful!

    Robe of Vecna, Amulet of Power, Staff of the Maji. Instant cast sunfire, pause and switch from staff->fists->staff to go invisible again. Then instant cast sunfire again.

    improve alacrity + these 2 items is one of the things that make arcane caster completely OP. You don't even need to use timestop.

    Project image, improve alacrity, cast lower resist 3 times (instant with these 2 items), cast skull trap 6 times (also instant) -> dead melissandre (or whatever was standing there) for the cost of 1 level 7 spell.

    They stack, the effect that you read is for the STANDARD Spell Casting Time modifier, there are 3 different types for that effect. Robe of Vecna and Amulet of Power use type 1, which reduces the casting time stacking with other items or effects.

    If you really wanted to be broken you can add the effect directly to your character at type 1 power 9, meaning you instant cast every spell in the game (except cleric spells), with improved alacrity you can make your character constantly spamming spells.
