Marek antidote question

Does every party member have to drink the antidote? I seem to recall that in vanilla BG1 you just took the antidote and everyone was healed without using a single charge of the actual item. In here, however, I took it with my PC, he automatically used it and used one charge up, and the following message was written below: "PCName - Cured of Marek's poison" or something to that effect. This is all making me quite paranoid, I don't want to have my entire party - save the main char - drop dead at a possibly crucial moment. On the other hand I don't want to use up nearly all the charges of the item when there is possibly no cause.

    No, the very act of obtaining Marek's antidote is sufficient to cure the entire party...provided you are in the correct area or you manage to convince him to give it to you.
