no return point/map marker to Kuldasar

Trying to make things as spoiler free as possible.

I went from Kuldasar to the vale of shadows, cleared the map (a lot of keys) and the journal tells me I should return to Kuldasar. Thing is, while I use the return point, the map shows only the vale and eastwich, but not Kuldasar. There is no map marker above the tree where it was supposed to be.

Restart shows the same problem, files have been verified by steam, latest version 1.40 (german). No mods loaded.

Edit:
Map crashed twice in the vale after "lagging out".

    Began a new game and could not reproduce the bug. Got a savegame but maybe it was just one of those map crashes which corrupted the save.
