[Bug] Text error in Chapter 4

Observed: "MARSHALL NEDERLOK: If we're to get to Caelar within the keep, someone needs to stanch the flow of troops from the camp so we can break down the inner courtyard doors."

Expected: "staunch", not "stanch".

Note: do I get a prize for first public bug report?

Good find. Also in the cave/chasm area where Charname searches for Korlasz -

Observed: Ammon says, "I'm creating an alchemical concotion to reveal magically concealed writings."

    Expected: Concoction, not concotion.

No, but you do get a link to the Dictionary.com page that defines "stanch": http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/stanch

Oh! Well that must be one of those differences in spelling across the Atlantic, then. However, although most of us are familiar with numerous such variations, I must say that I've never in my life seen "staunch" spelt as "stanch" in sources from either side of the ocean. I therefore reckon that using this variant is going to cause surprise on my side of the Atlantic, and many will simply assume that the writers can't spell.

"Staunch" is an adjective. It's sometimes used as a variant of stanch, but it's actually a different word entirely. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/staunch

Americans drop there Us all over the place. It's probably bcause they pronounce it "oo" rather than "you", and so don't have much oose for it.

On my side of the Atlantic, staunch is both a verb and an adjective, and the two usages have quite distinct meanings (the adjectival meaning being the same as in your usage).

I acknowledge that it's legitimate for Americans to use the "stanch" form for the verb, since it's listed in the standard American dictionary, but over here we normally use "staunch" for the verb. I've just checked in the Oxford dictionary, and it does acknowledge both spellings, but most of us here probably aren't aware of that. I wasn't until today, for example.

Oh well, "tomarto" and "tomayto" I suppose.

@Dee this one may get the price, though.
