Sighted "Snake", slew same

[Note: The title is derived from a WW2 aerial pilot's radio message, which became famous for its laconic character. Extra credit will be awarded for citing the original text. "Snake", along with "worm" or "Wyrm" is, of course, a common derogatory term used when referring to a dragon opponent.]

MC and Co. had a choice now, between Bhaalspawn targets. There was no apparent priority between Sandy and Abigail, so it was decided to scout out both strongholds. Sandy's place was apparently crewed by sneaky Drow, while Abigail seemed to be dragon-based. It was felt that a few hard targets would be easier to handle than a bunch of magic-resistant dark elves, so Abby's place got the nod. And what the heck was a were-wyvern anyway?

As it turned out, dragons here were few and far between. The biggest challenge was navigating a bunch of underwater tunnels, and keeping track of which led where. A few cute-toes here, some greater water elementals there ... nothing that couldn't be handled fairly easily. The biggest annoyance proved to be a slew of levitating eyeballs (huh?) that infested the laboratory area of an ocularly obsessed mad scientist (or in this case wizard). The crazy old coot needed a gauth eyeball to complete his collection, so they agreed to get one for him. There was a choice to restore the health of a party of little league types who had gotten stoned, and hire them to do the job, but this was dismissed as being too wimpy an option. (Although, being more good than neutral, the party did in fact restore them to health anyway, and then advised them not to play with the big boys until they had grown up.)

A few elder orbs later, MC was the proud owner of a gauth eyeball, which was then traded in for a scroll that would help free a guardian they had met from its geas. Cool beans; now they didn't have to off the poor gal. There was some discussion whether of not to kill the wizard, who was, after all, in Abigail's employ, but it was decided that such an obvious psych job would be unlikely to contribute substantially to Abby's war effort, and so he survived.

Just a hint but try to reload and get the stoned party to do the job for you. I promise you will not regret.

Well, the geased guardian, who was a green dragon, btw, was freed from her bondage. She didn't show all that much gratitude, but eventually decided to let the party go past, a decision which definitely contributed substantially to her longevity.

With the last barrier to Abigail's lair hurdled, the group prepared for a titanic death cage style match. All psyched up, they blew through Abby's frost salamander guards and hacked her head off. A bit of an anticlimax there; Abigail went down in seconds. Despite the fact that her head was lying on the floor and hence unconnected to the lungs, Abby still managed to gasp out a last threat. Probably some sort of weird dragon magic at work.

Time to rest up a bit before heading over to Sandy's place.
