weapon proficiency archer/warrior

So i was reading the description and its say + 1/2 attack at 3 point and +1 at five for warrior i was wondering if the archer get it because if not this would mean for dual class warrior could actually be better with ranged weapon.
For example at lvl 9 or 10 the archer get + 3 to hit and + 3 to dmg however the warrior would get 1 more attack which is probably better.

i was also wondering if sling and shield count for the weapon and shield mastery? this would coul be very pwerfull for dual mage or cleric.

Warrior means any Fighter, Barbarian, Monk, Paladin, or Ranger, including Archers. So yes, the Archer will get the extra attack for Grand Mastery.

You only get Sword and Shield Style bonuses while wielding a melee weapon, not a sling.

Just for clarity, the first 1/2 APR (attack per round) bump comes at specialisation (**), not mastery (***).

Warrior classes (as listed above by @joluv ) also get extra 1/2 APR at levels 7 and 13.

Monks don't get the warrior Strength table though at 18 Strength and from what I understood have the THACO progression of Thieves. Even though they can't get specialization for weapons I don't think they'd apply for that extra 1/2 attack from specialization, just the Monk bonus attacks with their fists from leveling I think.

But yeah on the other stuff you guys are correct. Archers qualify for the extra attacks from getting specialization onward with their ranged weapons cus they're Rangers, and Slings don't count as a melee weapon so sword and shield style doesn't benefit that setup.

On another note the Archers will always be a better base ranged attacker than a Fighter or other classes cus of the bonuses to hit and damage they get every few levels, it stacks up very quickly. Not even getting to race bonuses, magical ammunition, or magical weapons to couple with that. So being able to hit almost every time makes them better than Fighters generally cus their Called Shot ability is also able to hit a lot because of that even if they didn't get that extra attack or half attack a round. It's a pretty powerful combo.

Classes that wouldn't get that extra half attack would be something like the Swashbuckler kit, since they can specialize in melee weapons for a Thief but aren't a warrior class. A number of kits from mods also wouldn't get that extra half attack if not a warrior class like Thieves or Clerics.

@thelovebat: I'm looking now, and the BGEE manual is pretty ambiguous about whether Monks count as a Warrior class, but we can look at their traits. (I'm only considering the ones that apply to every other Warrior class.)

Present Warrior traits: Extra 1/2 (armed) attack at levels 7 and 13 (despite what the manual says), only -2 THAC0 penalty for using a weapon without proficiency, Warrior (not Rogue) THAC0 progression

Missing Warrior traits: No extraordinary strength, HP bonus from CON tops out at +2/level

So I guess you can call them Warriors or not. The APR boost at 7 and 13 makes me think they "would" get APR bonuses from specialization and grand mastery, but I don't know what happens if you give them extra pips with EEKeeper, for example.
