[Not An Issue] Gaining servile position in Oberan's estate yields nothing?

During the quest to steal the skyship parts, I discovered that you could speak to Glanmarie, the rotund headmistress on the first floor, and secure a short-order position to clean the east wing if you talk to her just so. Sadly, this has no seeming effect on the other staff members reactions to you, nor to how the sisters upstairs react. Sure would be nice and make sense if getting the position through Glanmarie updated your quest log and made it possible for you to escape the sisters' wrath. Short of that, your only choices are straight up avoidance or wholesale slaughter. Seems like a missed opportunity, or did I miss something? :)

    that's how it was in the original bg, I remember doing the quest without killing the sisters by using potions of invisibility, and in the vanilla days, hostile creatures wouldn't follow you through doors and stairs, so it was much easier back then
