Monster that need to be hit with magical weapons

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
I know this is a stupid question and I should know the answer. Well here goes, when you have a monster that need to be hit with magical weapons. What applies when using missile weapons, is it the launcher the missile or both. Thanks to any one who can put my mind at ease.

    If the weapon generates it's own ammo, it uses the enhancement of the launcher, but aside for that it depends on the ammo itself.
