Transferring item files

I want to transfer one of the new items from Dragonspear to BG2:EE that isn't on the BG2:EE import list. What would be the easiest way to do this with the fewest consequences ( i.e. Not having it fuck up patches and having to be undone/redone with every patch)?

    Just to clarify, EEKeeper doesn't have the item listed for BG2:EE.

    Damn. I was really hoping it might be as easy as copy/pasting the item file once I found it.
