No other name for the title of this thread will suffice really, I imagine this is how many felt when John Lennon died. Prince was the most singular talent of the last 30 years of music. The word "genius" gets thrown around alot when referring to artists in many mediums, but it's helpful to acknowledge when that label isn't just hyperbole, but actually deserved. Prince is what every musician strives to be, but in 99.9% of cases can't, because Earth just isn't blessed with people like this but once a generation, if that. Music lost a giant today, and we'll likely never see his like again in our lifetimes.

Tonight (21 Apr), in Minneapolis Minnesota (of all the places...), Corey Taylor was slated for a live acoustic concert. The timing of that is almost spooky to me. At the event, he covered Purple Rain.
When David Bowie passed on, there were several tributes that crossed genre. I think this one represents that same thing for Prince very well.
We've lost two great giants of music this year, and if you count Lemmy Kilmister and Merle Haggard...fixed, I was tired (I do, at least), four great musicians since the end of December 2015. Our generation of defining musicians are leaving us behind too fast. And in a time when the world needs great examples of pure artistry for others to emulate, we lost one of the best too damn young.
I always think its awesome when my mom said that she actually got to meet Prince once.
I feel as if what was said was very genuine and heartfelt, and thusly, worthy of the share.
THIS is the way that Prince would want to be remembered! - just listen to his monologue at the beginning.
