I am not sure if they fixed it in the EE versions but you could go into a house or building you never planned to visit again and remove Dynaheir from your party. Then leave quickly before she has a chance to talk to your main character.
Dynaheir can also get in touch with her inner stone-ness through a staring contest with a basilisk. This way she can be recruited again (for a small price) although from a roleplaying standpoint she's essentially dead.
I never thought of rescuing her first......I always sent her alone into a fight and she died......i dont need to mages in my party......kinda forces you to do evil while playing an cg party...just my 2 cents.

who needs minsc anyway , get kagain and slap the helm of opposite alignment on him , suddenly he sees the way of 20 rep storepice savings !
but yeah , one mage is way than enough utility in BG1 .. all i use them for is Blasting with Wand of Fireball free Identify/Haste and invisibility then stacking corpses isn't an Option. who needs Horror and Blind... then your Front-row makes body explode left and right.
I find the woman has a death wish coupled with a strong desire to avenge her captivity and without very, very careful management she just attacks those gnolls, weaponless though she may be.
It upsets me greatly every time she lunges at the gnolls with just her fists (and she seems to do that whenever I have met her), and although I have the speed/strength of a dead God, that wily little witch evades all my attempts to stop her.
I sometimes think she should be the one with a hamster.

Moral of the story: Never rescue a damsel in distress without a spare sling and bullets? Lol
On my solo run I waited until I was lvl 5 before rescuing her.. Bad idea, it stopped being a solo run, but dual fireballs are sooo much fun! And both mages are untouchable with 18 dex, shield/ghost armour and mirror image (later on improved invis & stoneskin).
The odd utility spell from her complements a fun setup: random encounter ogre Mage: in goes the stinking cloud, then from a safe distance we play peg the invisible fireball on the sleeping Mage

Invite both to your Party , go to a temple ... Kill Minsk , Kick Dynaheir out.. Resurrect Minsk.
