Nevin Graveyard Bug? (Spoilers)

I am unable to save Nevin from Lester because I can not attack Lester. He has a neutral circle throughout his exchange with Nevin. Is this a bug or am I not targeting correctly or a quest I haven't done or reputation too low? Thanks in advance. It's driving me crazy atm!

    You can attack neutrals. Just click on the weapon you have equipped on the quickbar and make sure your cursor is a sword when you hover over Lester and your character will attack him.

    Thanks. I knew it was my battle mechanics, just couldn't figure it out.

    Hmmm, no it still brings up the dialogue icon.

    I can hit him with spells only. I'm on iOS maybe that is it.

    Yes. Finally killed him with Melf's Meteors and Magic Missiles.
