BUG flaming fist won't attack bridgefort

yay another bug that I've found plenty of people having problems with, yet not a single solution. can't get the flaming fist to attack. f*** this broken s***.

    What steps did you take to get them to attack?

    all the right ones.
    I tried every known work around, resetting Khalid by telling him we were surrendering. I ran back and forth between camp at least a dozen times.
    I wound up just putting the game on story mode to get through that f****** battle.
    beamdog's products are broken. I will not buy another.

    So you talked to Khalid and told him you wanted to attack. What approach did you suggest Khalid take? Do you have a save game from before you tried to start the battle that you can attach here? (in a zip file)
