Weird party formations for summons

When I have summons in my party, the formations become very weird, with my party in their usual formation and the summons forming a mile away. Is there a way to fix this?

    I have had this happen often, it depends on where they are when you click the Select All button. It seems to do it if they are outside a radius somewhere maybe 30 or 40 game feet.

    In my case I see it almost all the time, it doesn't depend on the distance between the summoned creatures and the group. Typically the summons will just keep the same relative positions to the party that they had when you issued the move command. I. e., if a summon was, say, 20 feet NE of the group at the original location, it will usually move to a new location which is 20 feet NE of the group in the destination. This doesn't seem to be consistent, though, sometimes they just move to random spots.
