  In part IV of the book Exile (book II of The Legend of Drizzt trilogy) Drizzt encounters an Illithid city. When I read it, I was very much reminded of the Illithid City in the Underdark you meet in Shadows of Amn.

  One of Elaine Cunnigham´s books of Liriel Baenre, a drow priestess, sported an illithid villain, it was even presented on the book´s cover! Lemme find it for you...
