Custom Portraits not working

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
Hey guys, in the past I've added custom portraits for BG:EE and they worked fine.

Recently anything I try to add won't show up in the game. The pictures are in 24-bitmap format, the correct, size, in the same directory, etc. Everything should be right, according to the in game instructions.

Any ideas on something I could have overlooked?

    Are the filenames 7 characters or less and lowercase?

    Did you put them in your games install /Override folder or in your /Documents/Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition/Portraits folder?

    Is your game up to date? Since the 2.0 patch there's no longer a custom portrait menu. They're now placed along the original ones.
