Program won't start

Hello,
After completing Korlasz's tomb I was having the apparently common problem of the game getting stuck once you speak with Imoen to leave. Reading other forum discussions, it appeared that what I needed to do was uninstall the mods I had. So I did that, but now the game will not start. I click on it, it says it is running briefly, and then nothing happens.
