What to do about currently installed version of NWN: Platinum

I've got NWN: Platinum & the 1.69 patch, plus the CEP, how does NWN:EE fit into this? Do we uninstall NWN: Platinum, remove patch 1.69? What do we do?!?

Two can be installed side-by-side and when it is done installing you can just copy all the stuff from 1.69 install like haks, custom music and tlk to EE folder in your documents directory.

If 1.69 ain't supported, why copy all the content to the game? Won't it screw things up?

He's only suggesting you copy over the added 3rd party content, not game content itself. Or you could just install any mods cleanly into the new nwn:ee location in your documents folder. There's no reason they can't live side by side, since they use completely separate directories and executables.

What will happen with modules that use the CEP?

Nothing as CEP is external to the ee updates. If the module uses CEP it has to be in the /hak directory for ee just like it was for old nwn1.

@Ugly_Duck , I found this tidbit in this thread (courtesy of @T0R0 )-

You can edit the nwn.ini in your document folder to point to another drive.

Meaning that you won't have to have two copies of the same stuff in two different directories, NwNEE can just use what's already in the NwN 1.69 directory. I did this last night, and it works amazingly!

Always bear in mind that a future update to the EE headstart could (not necessarily will but could) change your nwn.ini at some point in the future (which would mean you would have to perform the edit again). Otherwise that should work.
