Getting Started - Database Guide?

In my bad old days with the BioWare version there was no database capability. Then along came NWNX. Now, after poking around here, I'm sensing there's a bit of a native database ability built into the actual toolset? Is this true? If so, can someone post a link where I can go to learn about it and get started using it?

    Yes, there is built-in database support in NWN. You can find out more about the database functions and their uses here at the Lexicon site.

    You can also save variables on an undroppable item on a server vault PC as well for persistency.

    Many say neither method is as good as an external database via NWNX, however.
