Unpickable lock in dungeon level 2 in Winds pear Hills

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I have just killed the vampires and went into next room and killed wraith, no key dropped. In the corridor just before the room with the vampires there is a door at other end which is locked and cannot be picked. I've tried everywhere to carry on but this seems only way through. Is this a bug or something? I hope not because this would be a game stopper

    My memory (though that's pretty poor) is that the key you refer to is not dropped by a wraith, but found in a container in the room where the wraith (or other undead) appears - have you looked in that?

    Sussed it. The key wasn't highlighted but after watching a walkthrough on utube I seen where the key was.
