[bug] mazzy permanently removed from party after imprisonment

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
so i’ve been playing and enjoying BG2:ee largely as i await significant patching for a newer crpg to remain nameless, but i’ve encountered an extremely annoying problem— mazzy dialogue is wrecked after imprison spells and thus she cannot rejoin the party. this happened also when she was petrified although in both cases i reversed the effects. this means fights to get the ring of gaxx and the staff of the magi triggered mazzy permanently removed from the party and she effectively couldn’t ve used for those fights .( i saw this reported online elsewhere too but haven’t found an easy workaround).

i’m stunned that this problem is still out there like decades post-release?

    Its an ancient problem that been around forever. Something about the engine REALLY doesn't like Imprisionment. Someone might know a console command to fix the npc, but the most reliable way to do so is to just reload to before the npc was imprisioned.

    The Infinity Engine is a veritable Pandora's Box of bugs. Its HIGHLY recommended to keep multiple backup saves.
