How do I interact with my familiar?

Just started a new game with a FMT and when I summoned a familiar it appeared on the ground (cat) - I can't recall how to interact with it to get it to get in my pack.
Tried right & left click - also used the "talk" key which produced a dialoge from the cat as if it was someome else who talked to it and the cat ignored it and walked over towards the PC.
(Info not in the spell write up either)
Edit: Never mind finally got it!
