Custom soundset issue

I've got my usual soundsets in place, but only the action acknowledgement sounds play, everything else is mute. Is this known/otherwise noted? Is there a workaround? The soundsets do work perfectly in the original versions of BG/BG2.

I looked for a while about soundset issues, didn't find anything like this one though.

    Same issue here. I created a new set of sounds today, and the only one that works is the acknowledge. in the actual sound selection screen when you click play to preview, all of them are working fine.

    I brought in another old set i was using and had the same exact issue.

    It's a bug, the easiest way is to rename and to replace the current soundsets like male6

    @junk11 I tried that, too. No joy. For whatever reason, it simply refuses to play anything but the acknowledge sounds, and even then tends to repeat just one over and over.

    @Rythgar
    make sure u replace as in BG format, like male6a.wav~male6m.wav (a~m, no numbers)
    (i'm sure u put those in 00766\lang\en_US\sounds)

    also selection sound only works when u change from member to member,
    and remember to check the character sounds are on under sound option in game

    if u check everything above is fine, and soundset still not working..then I have no idea :/

    @junk11 Yeah, did all that. The sndlist.txt in the folder indicates that the engine supports xxxxxxxa-xxxxxxxw but even just doing a 1-to-1 replace of an existing soundset, nothing works but the acknowledge. Weird.

    hmm..strange..
    I get the soundset working after replacing the existing one, and select the soundset in game for my character.
    it works perfectly afterwards...well with default text on the textbox..

    @junk11 I'll try more later on, but nothing has seemed to work. Perhaps there is a formatting issue? The sounds are from IWD though, and are listed as exactly the same format, and they worked before.

    This may help you... even if you dont use the actual mod, you can see how to do it.
