It is possible. I did not beat it enhanced edition yet, but I remember these threads, though I can't find them. I decided I would see for myself. So yes, you can do it, however, you will not be given a chance to choose between subclasses or change proficiencies as you could with original bg to bg2. I didn't play through at all, so do this at your own risk, though I dont think there should be any problems. I started up the game and left right the talk with Imoen, so I just wouldn't know for sure.
