Offline Install and Play

Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if there will be a way to download the installer in one pc and then install it offline, maybe on a laptop instead of a desktop PC. This is because I want to play BG:EE on a PC which doesn't have Internet Connection, but in the way things are just now I cannot.
No, I cannot put internet on the other PC, but I can use a USB key to store the install file and play it offline.
Also, is there a way maybe to play the same savegame cross-platform or use old BG savegame with this edition?
You know, I have an old savegame, I have the PC version of the game and plan to buy the Android version. I'd love to take out my old savegame, play it on the PC and then, during train travels, play it on the tablet so I won't stop BGing and my PG will grow one way, instead of starting multiple PGs that maybe will not see the end of the adventure..

1) You have to go online at least once from the PC it is installed on to unlock the DRM
2) BGEE saved games are compatible cross platform. There is a feature in the works to make this cloud based, but you will be able to do it immediately by moving the files around.
3) I just tested loading a BG save game, and it crashed. Don't know if they are planning to fix this or not.
That said, if you're the legal owner of the software and legally allowed to install/play the game and you have NO other options available to you because, for some reason, you cannot get an internet connection from ANYWHERE (I find this argument pretty ridiculous but I will take it at face value) I'm sure you can figure out something.
Seriously though, how is it anyone these days cannot get access to an Internet connection for 5 minutes? How did you get the software to begin with? You have no local computer shops or gaming stores in the area that you can talk to to get your system online for 5 minutes?
Make a friend or two, I'm guessing you can solve this without much problem...assuming, of course, that you're not just looking for community help to get your copy of the software playable by your friends.
I'd pay for another copy of the game for him obviously, but I'd like - if possible - to make a USB stick or DVD with the install files on them for him, since he's on a data plan with limited bandwidth/speed, so I know for a fact he'd never get around to downloading the whole thing himself. Is this possible? If so, how? He would be able to go online to verify the game, so that part's okay.
My problem is the more like Mikkel's one, because in my girlfriend house there is no internet, and I will be using an Internet key, which is fine to authentication, but not for downloading gigs and gigs of datas.
All I'd like is a real Stand-Alone Installer, which is not requirinig internet to download anything, but is ok if it is a little connection to authenticate the copy, and then I can play it even without connection.
Obviusly if I install it on 234523 PC there will be a problem, but if I install it in 2 (or 3) PC which are not using the game in the same time I don't see where is the problem, since one can have a Desktop and a Laptop and wants to play maybe while train-travelling, with the cloud saving. (example: I am at home, I play on my amazing performing desktop, have to go to my gf's house, switch on my laptop, sync the save, switch it off, take the train, open laptop with save synched and play offline 'till I am at my destination, then once I have the Internet Connection I can sync the save and continue my adventure on my performing desktop).
I am sorry if I look confused, maybe I am, but I'm a little bit ill, so please, pardon me and be kind..
You should be able to download on any windows PC that has a net connection (laptop at a coffee shop / library, work computer, etc.) and install the game. Once the game is installed copy the entire installed to folder to a USB key and then off into the same location (not sure it matters, but just in case it does) on the computer you REALLY want it on.
From there, when you start the game up it will ask for a net connnection to authenticate. Once you've performed the net authentication once, that PC is clear and playable even without a future net connection.
Note, however, obviously you won't be able to get updates in this way and things like cloud saving (which I don't think is in the game yet, but will be according to the devs) and multi-player aren't going to work for this "Island" copy. (I know, DUH).
In today's world, no Internet is starting to = no gaming.
Might i recommend an iPad for you?
If your girlfriend have Internet access, even if it's limited, you should be able to update the game and use cloud saving.
Only multiplayer won't work, and that's only if you play with, or at the same time as another pc with the same purchace account.
I'm not speaking of experience, it's only that that's been my understanding of how the DRM works.
If I'm wrong, I am sorry, and would like to get the set facts straight by someone regarding this.
Don't worry, I'll never get an Ipad, I have an Android TF300T that is waiting for android version to be released, you know, I don't like apples biten and left rotting away... ;P
@Bytebrain thanks...and, just for the records, is Shae_DoDar, not Shay..
Fair enough.
I'm usually trawling the forums using my iPad, and when I'm commenting and the keybard appears, there's not enough room to see the posts I'm replying to, so I have to scroll up, read and remember the name tags.
It very often goes wrong...
