Erroneous AC bonuses from defensive spin

Current Behaviour
The Blade's Defensive Spin ability is giving erratic bonuses to AC. I did some tests with my blade at level 3, and as far as I can tell it wasn't just an error in AC display on the record/inventory screen, the erroneous value was actually being using in combat. Here are the values I'm getting:

Level 1-3: AC bonus 1
Level 4, 5: AC bonus 4
Level 6, 7: AC bonus 6
Level 8, 9: AC bonus 8
Level 10 : AC bonus 30

Edit (December 10): Depending on which of the above level brackets my Blade is in, he is able to move while under the effects of Defensive Spin (actually seems to move at a faster speed than normal). While levels 4, 5, or 10, he is able to move. He seems to be properly rooted in place at all the other levels.

Expected Behaviour
Defensive spin should give +1 AC bonus per level, up to a max of 10.

Edit (December 10): While under the influence of Defensive Spin, the Blade should not be able to move.

Interesting. That hasn't happened to me yet, but I haven't actually played a whole lot yet so maybe it's only a matter of time.

So I'm kinda new to bug reporting, is this all I have to do? Is there some way to know if this has been seen and noted by the powers that be?

If you have a ring of free action you can move.

Current Behavior: I don't know if this is somehow my doing, but now whenever I go into a defensive spin, my AC drops immediately from -1 to -25 and I can still move around the battle area. Definitely would make for easy fights, but I don't enjoy cheating.

Expected Behavior: AC should go from -1 to -11 (Level 10) and character should be rooted to the ground.

With regards to the strange AC values, I've already made a bug report here
    http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/10400/erroneous-ac-bonuses-from-defensive-spin

With regards to being able to move, do you have anything equipped that grants free action, such as the ring of free action or Spider's Bane?

Even if he had, he shouldn't be able to move, BGEE supposedly fixed that exploit.

Could you provide a save file with your broken Blade?

Ok yeah now that I checked, I'm actually getting the same thing (being able to move with defensive spin). It only seems to have started after my bard reached a certain level. My movement speed actually appears to be faster than normal after using defensive spin. I'll update my original bug report.

Ah, I didn't see that thread. I searched the forum, but let's be honest- it's near impossible to find a post using the search at times.

No, not wearing any RoFA or using Spider's Bane. I have tested with boots of speed both on and off, and just realized during Offensive Spin I get double the movement speed while wearing them while the manual says that Offensive Spin shouldn't stack with haste or improved haste effects.

Defensive Spin I move as if hasted at all times whether wearing the boots or not. I don't remember if this started after a certain level or not, since I'd been using my blade primarily as an offensive melee character, not really using Defensive Spin much. Definitely went wrong somewhere though.

@Tanthalas - Yes I can, where do I send it?

Yeah I don't blame you for not finding it, the search funtion is atrocious. And yeah I'm getting the same thing you are. If you take a look at my edited bug report, you'll see that being able to move while defensive spinned seems to only occur at random levels. I haven't tried offensive spin + boots of haste yet though.

You can upload it directly to the forums.

@Tanthalas I'm not sure, but I think only moderators are able to upload files on the forums.

    @TJ_Hooker

Anyone can attach files to posts. But I'll try to reproduce the bug on my end.

OK, I can reproduce this. It looks like after level 4 for some reason Defensive Spin is acting like Offensive spin.

EDIT: At level 6 it goes back to working normally and then it gets broken again at level 10.

Not sure if anyone's reported this before, but I just found this one on my bard. First few times I used defensive spin, I didnt notice more then -1 AC even tough I was lvl 2. Didn't care much about it and at lvl 3 I got -3 AC as intended. However, as I fought Ursula the bear a few minutes ago I hit defensive spin. I ended up with a total AC of -5, but she still ate me raw. I checked the log and noticed that she got d20+2 to hit me before activating defensive spin. After activating the defensive spin she still had d20+2 chance to hit me. So, even tough my characterinfo display a bonus to AC, the effect on the roll is the same. That makes the spin compleatly broken.

Ohh, and apparently I can move while defensive spin is activated.

The AC thing is a problem, but roll values don't change regardless of your AC.

Right. Now I just gotta find the "delete Discussion" button on the forum...ohh...now where did they hide it... :)
