Why am i downloading the entire game again when i just want the patch?

I got the game client and changed the directory to where my game is installed and its redownloading the entire game i dont get it!!!!

    Patches always have to scan all the files to replace the broken and bugged ones.Sometimes easier just to replace all the files,as was always the case with Steam downloads.Won't take long to do,five minutes in my case and i have an old dual core AMD.

    Its not patching anything its just downloading the whole game again it seems...

    I believe you can change the path where the client installs the game. You can check to see if that's actually where you originally installed it?
    If it is, then the Client's normal behavior when patching the game would be to scan the game directory, and update the required files, which would be replacing only the files affected by the update.
