Settings keep getting back to default

Hello

I am experiencing a problem at Settings screen : the game won't keep my changes after restart (game settings such as pause events). Same about language switching : the game remains in English even after restart altough I chose French.

I am running Windows 8 Professional, and I suspect the fact that the game is not installed on C: drive (which is my SSD drive, reserved to OS), but on another drive named H:. More precisely, the game path is H:\Program Files (x86)\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\.

Plus, I did not see a Baldur.ini file anywhere in User/Documents.

Could I have some help about this ? Or at least a confirmation of the problem ?

    UP again.
I re-installed the game again from 0 on C:/ which is my SSD drive. The problem remains the same : the settings change back to default after restart : gameplay, language...

This is very annoying. Please answer either for a solution, either for a workaround. Thanks.

Create a directory "X:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition" by yourself (assuming you run Win7). I think, it is missing? If this folder exists, the baldur.ini (that contains your settings) is created as soon as you start the game.
Let me know, if it worked - I only heard about one other guy here experiencing this missing-folder problem.

Edit: Hm, thinking about this a bit more... a missing folder would be odd - in this case, you won't even be able to save a game.

    Thanks for your reply.

I (finally) found a solution, but it is not very evident for a new (foreigner) user. You can't save settings unless you start a new game right after changing them. Then you must save the game at the beginning, exit, restart and the game will then have your settings saved.

This is odd, I am not certain this the way it was designed to work... If it is, Beamdog should take a look. Yet I am also surprised this didn't happen to other foreigners. Maybe they all started the game right away once they had it.
