Skipping Cinematics?

For some reason, the game doesn't allow me to skip any cinematic, even those I've seen before. As a result, I have to watch the Black Pits and BG1 intro before I can even begin to load a game. I tried searching on the forum for information on this but came up dry. Is this a feature or a bug?

    Sounds like a bug, I had the same thing the first few times (2-3 tops) running the game, then it went away. Sounds like a setting indicating you've already seen that particular cinematic (and thus are allowed to skip it) doesn't get set properly.

    You also can't set the value of the cinmatics in the ini to '0'. The exe ignores the value for some reason.

    I tried loading the game a few more times and it still doesn't work for me, unfortunately. Anybody else having this problem?

    I was frustrated by this at first - tried space, enter, escape...then I found that mouse click is the only way to interrupt the cinematic. Did you try that?
