[Bug] Archers and Druids cannot use Ankheg Plate

According to class/kit descriptions, Archers may not wear any metal armor. Ankheg Plate is most definitely not metal (judging both by its in-game description and by common sense).

PS: This supporting evidence is, perhaps, somewhat tangential, but please note Druids actually could use Ankheg Plate in BG1.

    Additional "supporting evidence":

    http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/1287/bg1-bug-ankheg-plate-plat06-incorrectly-designated-as-magical#latest

    http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/5145/item-ankheg-armor-usable-by-druids-bug-or-no#latest

They "fixed" it to be an non-magical armor, and they hinted that this will be indeed usable for druids. I think the Item description still says it's not.

I believe they will, eventually. Not in the next patches, that's almost sure -- there are much more pressing issues to be solved. For time being, given the overwhelming evidence and my own common sense, I consider this an oversight. Thus, I have removed the unusable by Druids and Archers flags in the PLAT06.ITM manually.

Fighter/Druids can use the ankheg plate; pure druids can't because they can't wear heavier than hide.

Well, of course F/D can use it. Technically, Druids in BG:EE cannot wear armor heavier than studded leather. Still, if so many people (many of them, quite competent) think Druids should be able to wear Ankheg, it might be worth the change.

Archers are a different matter entirely, however. In their case, the restriction is "may not wear metal armor". Ankheg shell is not metal.

    Thanks, agreed.
Then only the item description knows it wrong.

I've also seen this and was surprised, since Ankhegs are organic not metal. But not the highest priority of bugs; my Archer is supposed to kill things outwith their range anyway, hehehe...

I didn't even notice about my archer, not a huge deal because he's not in the fight. But would like an answer on this druid thing because I'd like to take faldorn with. never used her before
