I'm in the Ducal Palace. After a conversation noblepeople turn into doppelgangers and then the battle starts. Everytime I try to defeat them, some of doppelgangers get panicky and run away to the basement. During this fight I can't change location, so I can't go down to the basement to kill those doppelgangers. The game stuck. I repeated this battle 4 times and it happened againg and again.

This sounds like a real rank A bug caused by the new engine, thanks!

I've thought about this a lot - and I figured that having enemies actually be able to change areas on their own would cause problems somewhere. Not too mention that it's pretty annoying. I would vote for enemies not being able to change areas when in "fear" status. This would still give the intended effect of enemies pursuing through doors.

    Hi,

When I go to the ducal palace for Sarevok's coronation, in the fight against the dopplegangers, liia jannath dies pretty easily. If that happens, the dialogue with belt doesn't take place, and the game gets stuck - neither belt nor sarevok wants to speak to me.

Well, i wonder what do you use on them to go past doors. I changed them to be panicky (they do flee from everything), but they don't pass doors. I didn't flag the doors as unpassable by NPC, but this event doesn't seem to happen.

It doesn't happen to me, i intentionally ctrl-y'd Liia. Belt survived. Belt talks to me.

Hm. I don't have my save anymore, but it did happen, more than once. It only worked when I saved Liia by protecting her with my fighters. Only then did belt talk, and Sarevok turn hostile.

I know how to reproduce it.
There is two way to finish this fight:
    - the two concelor dies -> end
    - you kill all the dopplegangers and one of the two concelor survived -> end

But the dopplegangers are easy to scared, and when they take too much damage, they just run away !
And they run away upstairs and downstairs, places where you can't follow them...

So like you can't follow them, you can't kill them, and the quest just doesn't finish.

I've got the same issue at the same place.

And you can add that sometimes scared ennemies that pass doors just disaperead into the void, creating lot of bugs.

    Same for me.
I also ask to make act the mage duke (I don't recall the name now) as a mage and not as a foul. She is a mage, so she could cast stoneskin, mirror image, improved invisibility or the like (if she really must enter in melee combat :S:S:S) couldn't she? :P :P :P

Have the same problem. As soon as I interrupt the coronation alle the doppelgangers reveal themselves, I kill them all and the dukes Liia & Belt both live, Sarevok just stands there, if I try to attack him the game is scriptet to kill me :(

Ah, indeed. Looks like my diagnostic was wrong, what gets the game stuck isn't Liia dying, it's dopplegangers fleeing. This bug can be marked as duplicate then.

I second the request on Liia. Pretty ridiculous to have her attack melee with her dagger.

In BG1 they could not change areas iirc. In BGT and TUTU you can actually chase them through doors, when they flee. Why not in BGEE?

Well, i thought about stoneskin on liia too. On the other hand, she and Belt was clearly caught unaware.
They prepared for a celebration, not a doppleganger massacre.

I see the doors are 'closed' during fights.

Ok, but a mage must always be ready...everyday he prepare his spell...and while stoneskin and mirror image woulden't be from them?

I think that a mage duke would have to take care more about himself...and his spell. He would be more often a target, having a political position.

And, if he has not spell of any kind ready to cast, he should escape the combat, not enter in melee, as only fouls do.

So I looked through the list of known bugs and before posting this, and still have found no fix. I should have posted it here, anyway. One of the dopplegangers in Duchal Palace has fled into the basement and now I cannot progress further into the game. I do not have my auto-save, and I unfortunately saved after the fight so. :/ Is there any known fix for this bug?

Anyone with this problem may fix the situation using cheats:
CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR0110") (examplary localisation, 2nd floor in palace, where I found missing doppelganger).
Here's list of locations in Palace: http://www.forgottenwars.com/bg1/ar0200b.htm#palace

Thank you, Twisterro! Found mine in the basement of Duchal Palace! Everything is working just fine now! Thanks again!
