    I seem to recall that monks can use cleric scrolls in BG2 as well, if they have 9+ int, since they're actually a variant of the cleric, though without the focus on spell casting.

    Likely not. Monks shouldn't be able to use mage/cleric scrolls. If they do, it is an oversight.
    Or maybe not.

    I'm pretty sure monks could use cleric scrolls in BG2

    Barbarians are technically a fighter kit, even if they get their own button, and pretty much all fighter restrictions apply to them as well, except the parts their class specifically changes.
