Should I use Edwin?

Hey ppl,

So I'm currently running a mixed alignment party for my first run of hopefully three, others being evil then good. My party setup is as follows:

Pc- Elf Sorcerer CN
Dorn
Viconia
Imoen- backstabbing
Neera
Coran- because he is a medieval machine gun....

That said, I have NEVER used Edwin and was wondering if he's worth using on my first run. He seems hilarious and such a dick but also massively powerful. Whilst i figure he can't identify, it's no massive prob as I can do this at temples etc. So in your opinion do I take Edwin or Neera. Bear in mind I'm using a mixed party and never used either.....

Edwin would be more reliable.

I think the perks of having Neera would only be learning Identify (since Edwin can't cast Divine Spells) and the fun of random surges of being a Wild Mage - although that makes her an unreliable spellcaster.

Also, take Neera if you wanna romance her. If not, definitely take Edwin. (he also has a better personality imo) But I think either will be fine since you already have PC as a main spellcaster.

You're already mage heavy. You've got you, Neera and Imoen (if you don't dual-class her, you're doing it wrong in my exceedingly unhumble opinion) already.

That said, he's worth using one of these days.

Only a monkey would ask such elementary questions of the forum. Clearly your own mental acuity is not up to a simple task like party balancing. It is obvious that the addition of Edwin will bolster the arcane power of your group and his incredible intellect can only improve your diminuitive odds of success.

(Why do I stoop to answering such inane questions, one day I should just fireball this entire forum...)

Well, Neera will end up petrifying or incinerating herself sooner or later, so you can feel free to recruit Edwin then.
