More of new weapons and equipment

Enhanced Edition adds many items from Baldur's Gate 2 that weren't in the first game, most notably weapons: katanas, wakizashis, non-magical scimitars, and so forth. But for the most part, I've only ever found any of them from the inn in Candlekeep, and never again after that. None of the other shops sell them, nor do any bandits or hobgoblins or whatnot wield any. There's word on a few magical ones being found around the place, but that's all there is to it: no non-magical weaponry or stuff anywhere.
I mean, I can understand katanas would not be particularly common, but you'd think there might be a few scimitars lying around?
