[Request] Selecting several characters at once

Current behaviour:
You can select more than one character either by drawing a window, or by shift-click or ctrl-click several portraits. However, ctrl and shift do the same - add just 1 other character to the selection.
Desired behaviour:
In almost any application for decades, usually shift-click means that you select all items (portraits) from the top one to the bottom one. I would prefer that behaviour in BG:EE too.
