Purist Question

Is it considered cheating by the majority to use the fog of war to make encounters easier? I.E. Slowly advancing a character or party to trigger one hostile NPC and "pull" him back to the group, avoiding the rest of the encounter? It seems shady but I've admittedly used the tactic on more than one occasion..

It's a bit of a grey area...kind of like throwing a stick in some bushes to attract the attention of a guard. Though it depends largely on the group in question as whether they're likely to fall for such a trick.

Though they could be a nut job like Laeral...*sound in the bushes* DWARVES!? *nukes the surrounding countryside with high level spells*

The light around your character represents the field of view. The character could be in the bushes or behind a rock or something, attacking only enemies they see close to them and vice-verse.
