I had this happen to him to, lol. I thought it was the stone Idol that I have robbed from a forgotten gods tomb. So I cast it into a lake near the Friendly Arm Inn.

I actually decided not to touch the idol, but maybe just opening the box to look at it is bad enough?

hmmm. It is tempting anyway to kick him and the druid out in exchange for the cleric that was turned to stone and the monk, but having a druid traveling with my Gnome just feels right.

U can kick him but not jaheira if u want. Send him solo into a building then reform your group and kick him. He will try to approach u to initiate dialogue and gather his wife but will be unable to since he doesnt change areas.

Edit: this works for any paired companions (minsc and dynaheir for instance.

If it is in relation to rainy weather it's likely just the random lightning strikes that can accompany it. May not have been his lucky day.

I'd have thought that wearing metal armour might have a Faraday cage effect, as long as he's got some metal in contact with the ground. Thinking about it too much?

Is it ever his lucky day?

Have you done the quest with the priestess of Umberlee and the three fishermen?

I think that if you help the priestess the fishermen tell you that you have pissed off their god Talos. Sense then my characters are getting hit by lightnings while its stormy.
