So what's the ETA on BG2EE?

I recognize that a week after launch (is the iOS version even out yet?) is a slightly cruel moment to spring the question, but has anything been said on the matter? I've already finished BGEE twice! I needs my sequel!

The current ETA is summer 2013.

Hm. Have we determined if BGEE saves can be imported into ordinary old BG2?

Haven't heard any definite confirmation yet, but it seems somewhat likely, especially if you account for some external tinkering. In theory the new NPCs (and the Blackguard kit) could be recreated for BG2 as well, but obviously wouldn't have any content.

They need to fix BGEE before even thinking of tackling BG2.

An interestingly unhelpful comment, Mister Hurlant! I'm sure it'll change the world, though! Seems to be working well enough for me to have finished it. Twice.

I'm seen a couple of posts on this forum about people successfully importing BG:EE characters into vanilla BG2 if you cannot wait.

I think I may use the time to run 2-3 chars though BG1 and get all the tomes, XP cap etc and fully prepped for the BG2 experience.

It's been reported in other threads that yeah, you can import your BG:EE character into the original BG2. Unless it's a Blackguard, of course, since the kit isn't there.

I've no more insight than any other ordinary fan, but I wouldn't count on BG2:EE any time before next autumn (spring if you're on the southern hemisphere).

Although a lot of work has already been done for BG1, BG2 is a considerably larger game, which means a lot more adjustments to make, bugs to fix, and so on.

At least we can rest assured that its definitely coming. IIRC, they're contractually obliged to release it.
