I was editing my Baldur.ini file and something went south hardcore! I should have been smart and created a back up, but i didn't think reorganizing a few lines for easier readability would buffle it up. :/ Anyways, after I started up the game, it started in fullscreen (I use it windowed), so I closed it and checked the .ini file to see what happened.

anyways, i moved a few of the movies lines around to regroup them, and added the 'Game Options', 'Color Circles', '0', line (which is in the How To Customize Your Game thread) and now my .ini files looks like this:

I spoiler tagged it to reduce it's size. I'm wondering if some one can post their Baldur.ini configuration so I can compare it to mine in order to fix it. I'm sure I can wipe the top half of the lines with no issues, but I want to make sure I didn't miss any lines. oi

I would re-post mine but i'm not at my pc atm. I'm not 100% certain but moving your .ini out of the folder then clicking the small button to the right of the play button (then clicking repair install) should prompt the updater to identify that a file is missing and re-download it. Don't delete the file of course just incase it doesn't, but as it's an updater there should be the ability to check your files for integrity. This should then analyse your files and download any delta between the two, kind of like a source control system.

The repair thing didnt work, but removing the file altogether and starting up a new game created a new file. I think the second half of the lines in the corrupted one i had were the new lines as the game attempted to repair the missing .ini lines.

After a quick comparison they are the same, and they are all set to the default game values when you first install the game. So it looks like everything is fine and i just have to reconfigure the game settings again.

This happened to me as well. I'm not 100% about what caused it, I think it may have been bad syntax or whatever you call it. From what I saw, in my own case, it happened when I was copy+pasting snippets of code from online sources and pasting into the INI file. When I entered the lines in by hand, it worked.

    Just my 2c. YMMV.
