Importing Characters - Weapon Proficiencies lost

When importing a level 7 fighter from BG1, BG1EE allows me to appoint 2 weapon skill points. However my old Weapon Skills are lost so that I have a fighter level 7 with only two weapon skill points now. Anyone else having this problem too?

    That's the risk you take when you're importing from vanilla or Tutu BG.
    There's many changes in the code of BG:EE, and importing from older versions of the game is a risk of certain incomparabilities.
